How Cute is That!

So I'm sitting in my studio when my favorite squirrel that I often sit and chat with comes to hang. Today though was special...I start talking with her and lo and behold, this time she just plops right down on her tummy and throws her arm over the side of the wall and just listens while I start talking to her.

So I start telling her how much fun animals like her are to draw when they sit still that long.

This time though I grabbed the camera and shot her pose so I can draw it later (not knowing when she was going to jam out of there as squirrels often do).

Now I can draw from the photo, which allows me to highlight those areas which I wish to draw the viewers eye to (Lesson 3 of my ebook).

And while you're practicing drawing, it's always good to take your time while learning the proportions, so using photos is a great way of learning.

I've named her Maxine. You can see her photo at How to Draw Animals
